I love it when a couple have a vision for their wedding day that breaks the mould of what a wedding day should look like. Sarah & Dirk has envisaged a CBD-New York street-style wedding photoshoot with a fun & cool architectural vibe. We began our planning years ago, BC (before Covid) and after 3.5 years, we nailed it!
Starting at their hotel room with a lovely First Look then we swished onto the streets. Taking full advantage of the quiet CBD, we used the backdrop of modern buildings and iconic architecture. They climbed stairs, found little nooks, danced on the streets, kissed in the middle of the road, ran down sidewalks and basically stopped traffic. They were a vision to behold! We ventured back indoors at Kittyhawk for a few moody bar photos as well as a paparazzi-style moment! 😎😎
Their guests joined them for drinks and nibbles before the wedding ceremony on site, and they kicked on with cocktails and dinner in a lovely evening of celebrations. Immersed in the vintage Art Deco speakeasy vibe and all round classiness of the venue.
Their wedding cake featured a pair of Japanese Domo characters in wedding attire - adorbsss!!! 🥰
It was truly fabulous and refreshing to work in a unique environment with a unique couple with a unique brief for their wedding day.
